The information below is to help give you a better estimate of how much shred you will need. Please keep in mind this is an estimate due to the exact amount of shred used depends on personal preferences and taste. 


There are no set formula...it depends on the size of the basket, how much you add in shreds, how many items, etc. But, you can build up the bottom of the basket with crumpled tissue or paper to lessen the amount of the shreds that you have to use. We have however provided some information listed below to help you make a more informed decision.


There is over 680 cu.in. in each 1 lb of crinkle cut.


All shred in boxes will expand in volume once the box is opened. All 50 lb bales are packaged in a cardboard carton before shipping.
